Shake up your life: how to change your own perspective

Updated: Dec 28, 2023

First things first! Realize you are your own worst enemy. No, not Satan and his demons. The Lord gives us dominion over our lives by choosing Him as our Lord and Savior. We come into covenant with God through the blood of Jesus spilled on the cross of Calvary and Jesus's resurrection on the third day.

According to Psalm 8:6, God Himself put mankind in charge, gave us dominion, and put all things under our feet. God doesn’t override our free will by intervening in the affairs of the Earth/mankind whenever He wants. He respects the dominion and authority He has given us. God is sovereign, BUT God places His Word above himself to keep order in all things. It is our responsibility to embrace the authority and power He gives us access to in accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, living a righteous lifestyle that glorifies the Lord our God.

How to change our own perspective?:

Spiritual Strategy points:

  1. Seek first the Kingdom of God in ALL righteousness. Matthew 6:33

  2. Decide to place God's word (Holy Bible) above your own perspectives and bring all your thoughts and feelings subject unto Christ Jesus. Simply put, do things God's way. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; James 4:7; 2 Chronicles 20:20. How? You ask. By seeking to live the way God intended-use His Holy word as a guide and pray, asking for the right leadership that can help you walk this out in your life. Proverbs 11:14; Proverbs 12:15

  3. Trust the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:4-5

  4. Have Faith! Hebrews 11:6 meaning we need to TRUST God/Jesus in all things

  5. Learn to accept that God's love is both correction and encouragement. Hebrews 12:6; Isaiah 43:4; Galatians 3:28; and John 3:16

Natural Strategy points:

  1. REPENT for all sin: transgressions, and iniquities! As Jesus told the sick and adulterous woman, "Go and sin no more" John 5:1-15 and John 8:3-11 It is clear that Jesus knew what had caused the man’s condition. The adulterous woman was being used to trap Jesus in saying the law did not matter. Jesus could neither be tricked nor is Jesus a fool. Yes, we are saved by grace, but it is our decision to live a righteous life that keeps us saved and in covenant with God. The grace of God is NOT a reason to commit unrepentant sin. NEVER! You must live Holy-"Be Ye Holy For I am Holy, say the Lord your God" Leviticus 11:44 and 1 Peter 1:16

  2. Crucify your flesh and resist the temptations of the demons. For example, stop hanging out with people who are not doing nor respect what you are doing to get closer to the Lord. Stop watching mindless television shows or listening to vulgar music which neither of those glorifies God. James 4:7. Also, learn and understand the importance of biblical fasting for change in your life. Matthew 17:21; Isaiah 58; 1 Corinthians 7:5; Joel 2:12; and Acts 13:3-4

  3. Pray without ceasing. This doesn't mean praying without taking a break, but it does mean praying regularly. If you do not know how to pray, then start talking to the Lord as you would a close friend. John 15:13; James 2:23; Isaiah 41:8; and 1 John 3:1

  4. Walk in the sincere LOVE of self and others. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Psalm 36:5-7; Romans 5:8; Hebrews 12:6; and 1 John 4:16

  5. Praise and Worship Him by listening to the gospel music of your choice. Singing songs unto the Lord. Being grateful. This keeps your focus on the things of the Lord. Find songs or make a playlist to avoid ungodly distractions and uplift your spirit. God inhabits the praises of His people. Matthew 4:10; Psalm 22:3; Psalm 79:13; 1 Peter 1:7; Isaiah 29:13; and Acts 16:25 praise even under unfavorable circumstances. Praise the Lord our God at all times, giving praise and thanksgiving to all he does and will do in your life.
